Without doubt it is one of the most fascinating routes in this territory. The ancient Ponale street comes from an idea by Giacomo Cis, a rich merchant of Bazzecca in the first half of 1800, and it was the first road open to vehicles which connected the Ledro Lake to Riva del Garda; for the inhabitants of the inland it represented the liberation from isolation. It was closed to traffic in the 1990s and today this beautiful panoramic street is one of cyclists’ and hikers’ favorite routes.
